Marie McDonald, age 93 of Round Lake Beach, died Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Winchester House in Libertyville. She was born Oct. 12, 1915 in Chicago to Joseph and Josephine Bottino. On Sept. 6, 1943 she married Ira McDonald who preceded her in death on April 15, 1996. Marie was a resident of the Round Lake area for 54 years. She was employed by Oak Manufacturing in both the Chicago and Crystal Lake plants for 11 years. She was a past member of Amvets Ladies Auxiliary, enjoyed bingo, cooking and was a doting grandmother. Survivors include her two sons, Joseph (Leatrice) McDonald of Round Lake Beach, Allen McDonald of Colorado; three grandchildren, Sandra Crumley, Kimberly McDonald and Richard McDonald; three great-grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua, Ethan; two brothers, Lewis (Evelyn) Bottino, Steve Bottino; and three sisters, Josephine (Iggie) Fricano, Agnes Campise, Connie Doran. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Bottino; and two sisters, Toni Lanucha and Rose Kurbin. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 13, at Justen's Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Court (at Cedar Lake Road), in Round Lake. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Avon Centre Cemetery, in Grayslake.
