Mrs. Alice Byington Jewkes, 23 year old Elko woman who was killed in a car wreck in Tooele County, Utah, Tuesday, was a Lava Hot Springs native.

She was born in Lava Hot Springs on March 17, 1932, a daughter of Roy and Florence Housley Byington. She was graduated from Lava Hot Springs High School in 1950. She lived in Pocatello the following year.

She was married to William Donald Jewkes on June 1, 1951, in the Idaho Falls temple. They lived in Elko, Nev., after their marriage.

Survivors include her husband and a year old daughter, Wanda May; her parents of Lava Hot Springs; two brother in Pocatello, Thayle L. Byington, 240 North Thirteenth, and Wendell H. Byington, 306 South Seventh; Ronald J. Byington, Lava Hot Springs, and Gerald L. Byington, Oxnard, Calif.

Funeral services are planned for Saturday in Elko.
