Obituary:
Oceanside - Jack R. Tenney, 69, 915 Reese St., died Friday in his home. A native of St. John's, Arizona, he came to Oceanside in 1927 from Pima, Arizona. Tenney retired in 1949 as Superintendent of Oceanside Elementary Schools after 21 years of service. He was a member and High Priest of the Latter-day Saints Church, the Oceanside Masonic Lodge No. 381, Oceanside Kiwanis Club, past Lt. Governor of Kiwanis International, and organizer of the North County USO. He was also President of the USO Board for two terms. Surving are his wife, Clara Tenney; two daughers, Mary Jacqueline Butachart of Rabat, Morocco, and Faith Claire Hartzog of Clearwater, Florida; a son, Jack M. Tenney of Santa Rosa, a sister Thelma Sheets of San Diego and 10 Grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Latter-day Saints Church with Bishop Ronald D. Remsberg officiating. Burial will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The Oceanside Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements. Source: Newspaper February 12, 1971
