Maude Brown Hatten was born July 11, 1879 at Rich Valley Township, McLeod County, Minnesota, the daughter of Samuel and Frances Hatten.

Maude B. Hatten was united in marriage with Oscar Roger Howe, son of Roger A. and Sarah E. Howe, at Glencoe on May 3, 1898.

Following their marriage, the late Oscar R. Howe and his wife lived in this community, and from 1907 to 1930 at Velva, North Dakota, when they returned to this community and lived on the Hatten homestead north of this city.

Maude Howe died at the age of 87 on January 3, 1967 at Lynwood, Washington.

Mrs. Howe is survived by a son and daughter, Everett O. Howe of Wolf Creek, Montana, and Mrs. Wanda (Allen) Bruckshen of Great Falls, Montana. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Howe was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Frances Hatten; her husband, Oscar; and her infant son, Elsworth.

Burial for Maude Howe was in the Glencoe City (Mt. Auburn) Cemetery, Glencoe, Minnesota, next to her husband, Oscar, and her infant son, Elsworth.
