Mrs. Shields was born April 20th, 1923 in Caldwell County, a daughter to the late Manuel M. and Victoria Munday Beane. A resident of this area since 1950, she had worked at Piedmont Christian Home and was a member of North Pointe Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was active in her church and the womens ministry. She was married to Charlie C. Craig who preceded her in death in 1963 and later to Andy Shields who preceded her in death in 1988. In addition to these she was also preceded by her daughter, Maxine Sibbett in 2004; a sister, Ruey Tramble and a great-grandchild, Johnny Sibbett.
Surviving is a daughter, Linda Craig Fulk and husband Jim of Kernersville; a son-in-law, Denny Sibbett of Kernersville; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at North Pointe Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Darrell Greene, Rev. Ray Woodyard and Rev. Guy Lineberry officiating. Interment will follow in Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point and other times at the home of her daughter, Musket Dr. Kernersville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Building Fund at North Pointe Pentecostal Holiness Church, 5225 High Point Rd. High Point NC 27265.
