Evelyn was the daughter of Lyda Pelton Bice & George Franklin Bice. Her siblings were Mabel (McElvogue), Marie, Kenneth, & Bessie (Kingery). Her first husband was Henry McElvogue & they had two children--Gloria & Henry (Hank). Her second husband was Al Quilliam.

From the Des Moines Register, March 1993:

Evelyn F. Quilliam, 76, of 3851 E. 25th St. died of pneumonia Saturday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Quilliam, a lifelong Des Moines resident, was a seamstress for Champion Glove Co. and a member of the Boline-Manfredi Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Overton of Ankeny, three sisters, Mabel McElvogue, Marie Bice and Bessie Kingery, all of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
