6 Aug 1957: Mrs. Carrie S. (Wagner) Hess, 63, of 65 Maytown Ave., Elizabethtown, died Monday evening at 10:45 o'clock in the Elmdale Rest Home, Lititz. She was the widow of Brooks Hess and a former Lebanon resident. She had been ill with complications for a few years. Mrs. Hess worshipped in the Lutheran faith. The survivors are: children, Walter W. Hess, Elizabethtown; Ethel, wife of Luther Shay, Seattle, Wash.; six grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Larene Spannuth, State College; Mrs. Louella Beuchler, Youngstown, O.; and a brother, Forrest Wagner, Robesonia. 9 Aug 1957: Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie S. (Wagner) Hess, 65 Maytown Ave., Elizabethtown, were held this afternoon in the Rohland Parlors, Fifth and Cumberland Sts. She was the widow of Brooks Hess. Dr. E. A. Chamberlin, pastor emeritus of the Seventh Street Lutheran Church, officiated. Burial was made in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg.
