John Newton Burnette, 70, died early Sunday at his farm home north of the village after a long illness. He was born at Whitwell, Tenn. On Sept. 6, 1913, he married his wife, Ellen, who survives.
He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Joyce) Graham of Dowagiac; three sons, William A. (Bill) and Delois of Keeler and Willard of Hartford; 10 grandchildren, a great-grandson; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Tate of Chattenooga, Tenn., Mrs. Bertha Moore of Whitwell and Mrs. Bert Morrison of Keeler; and two brothers, William A. of Keeler and Ambrose of Chattenooga.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Calvin chapel at Hartford, with the Rev. Ron Entenman of the Keeler Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Keeler cemetery.
