Eugene Linn Shaw, 78, lifetime resident of Ross township, died at his home at 7 o'clock Sunday evening. Mr. Shaw had been in failing health for the last five years with a heart ailment. About six weeks ago his condition became worse and for five days preceding his death he was bedfast.

Mr. Shaw was born a short distance northeast of the Pleasant Hill Presbyterian church, February 7, 1868, the son of Peter and Catherine (Dellinger) Shaw, and on October 26, 1892, was married to Miss Rosa Beisel, who survives. Since their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Shaw have resided on the farm on which Mr. Shaw died, a short distance west of the Pleasant Hill church. Of this church Mr. Shaw was a lifetime member and had served it as deacon. He was a farmer throughout his life.

Surviving with the widow are two sons, Earl B., at home, and Charles, of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Stephenson of Mulberry and Mrs. Hattie Rex of Frankfort; a brother, John Shaw, of Los Angeles, Calif.; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
