Mr. Emmes was born July 3, 1852 in Broughton, Ohio, and was almost seventy years of age at the time of death. He has made his home in Wisconsin Rapids for the past forty-five years. His first work in the city was delivering for Garrison & Whittlesey when they conducted their store here. During later years he worked in the local mills.
Mr. Emmes is survived by his wife, two children, Miss Ethel Emmes and Clarence Emmes of this city and one grandchild, Russell Emmes.
He also leaves two brothers, Charles of Brooklyn, Wis., and Samuel of Perry, Iowa, and three sisters , Mrs. Rose House and Mrs. A. Holcomb of Hancock, and Mrs. Charlotte Mills of Perry, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at two-thirty o'clock from the home, Rev. A. A. Bennett of the M. E. Church officiating. Burial will be made in Forest Hill cemetery.
