Death at Boonsboro
Mrs. Ellen Douglass Merriwether, widow of C. J. Merriwether, died Sunday morning at 1 o'clock after a brief illness at the home of her son-in-law, Mr. W. H. Rucker, near Boonsboro. Deceased was 73 years of age and was a daughter the late Addison Merriwether and from youth had been a member of the Episcopal church.
She is survived by three sons, Dr. J. A. Merriwether, of Holcomb Rock, and Messrs. W. D. and Frank Merriwether, of Boonsboro; also by one daughter, Mrs. W. H. Rucker. She leaves one sister, Mrs. May Clay, of Coffee.
The funeral services took place Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, and the interment was in the family burial ground at Boonsboro.
