JOHN A McGRANOR

John A McGranor, a former Knoxdale resident, died Thursday, November 9, 1989 at the Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie after an extended illness. He was 86 years of age.

Mr. McGranor was born in London Mines on May 13, 1903. He was the son of James and Jessie (Cramer) McGranor.

He married the former Martha Fuller in 1926. Mrs. McGranor survives.

A coal miner, Mr. McGranor retired from the Bucyrus-Erie Corporation after 14 years of service.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 94 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are eight sons: Clifford, Russell, Glenn, Merrill, Harry and Thomas, all of Erie, and James and Howard, both of DuBois; 35 grandchildren and 20 great-grand children, two brothers; William McGranor and Harry McGranor, both of RD 2, Reynoldsville, two sisters; Mrs. Helen Beck of Reynoldsville and Mrs. Alice Sprague of RD 1, Reynoldsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, a daughter, four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 13 at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home in Reynoldsville with the Rev. Richard Emery officiating. Interment was in the Moore Cemetery, Emerickville.
