"Ole Peterson: WI 30th Inf Co F. Residence: Martell, Pierce County, Wisconsin. Born "Ole Pedersen Busbergbjerget" on 22 Nov 1835 at Østre Gausdal, Oppland, Norway, son of Peder Bertelsen Busbergbjerget and Mari Olsdatter Sønstegaard. He came to America with his parents and four siblings on the bark "Preciosa", which sailed from Drammen, Buskerud, on 2 Jun 1849 and arrived in New York on 26 Jul 1849. They came to Jefferson County, Wisconsin, and moved about 1854 to Martell Township, Pierce County, Wisconsin. Civil War: Age 26. Unmarried. Farmer. Blue eyes, brown hair, dark complexion, 5'10". Enlisted for three years on 15 Aug 1862 at Martell. Mustered 21 Oct 1862 at Madison, Wisconsin. Private. Discharged for disability on 27 Apr 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky. Post war: He married Helene Jacobson. Three children. They lived near Beldenville, Pierce County. His brother, Amund, was also a soldier.
