Mr. Leon Seaborn Morris, age 78, of Route 2, Lyons, died at his home Friday morning, July 22, 1988 after a long illness. Born in Toombs County, Mr. Morris was a retired custodian for the Toombs County School System. He was a member of Marietta Freewill Baptist Church. He had formerly lived in North Carolina and Florida for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Lee Walker Morris of Lyons; a son, John Hilton Morris of Lyons; two daughters, Mrs. Patsy M. Woods and Mrs. Rose M. Reese both of Lyons; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Nellie Wilkes of Lyons, Mrs. Attis Ansley of Vidalia, Mrs. Corene Petty and Mrs. Ellene NeeSmith of Gastonia, North Carolina and Mrs. Mary Jane Dyche of Kentucky; also a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 24, 1988 at 3:00 p.m. at Peace Chapel in Lyons with Rev. Irvin Murphy and Rev. Dwight Williams officiating. Interment was in Lyons City Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Wayne, Philip and David Morris, Talmadge and Steve Wilkes and Louis Mills. Jones-Stewart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
