Funeral Held For Ernest Robert Owsley

Last rites for Ernest Robert Owsley were held July 21, at 2:30 p.m. in the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Cecil Tomlin, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, officated.

Beverly and Cecilia Tomlin sang "The Pearly White City" and "Some Golden Daybreak".

Casketbearers were Travis Hall, Ozzie Cupp, J.M. Cupp, Joe Griffin, Robert Wedell and Stanley White.

Interment was in the Hominy City Cemetery under the direction of the Powell Funeral Home.

Ernest Robert Owsley was born March 31, 1893 in Minco, Oklahoma, and passed away July 17, 1963, in Vinita, Oklahoma, at the age of 70 years.

He came to Hominy when he was a small boy and made his home here until moving to Vinita in 1937.

The survivors include 3 brothers, Jones Owsley, Pawhuska, Jim B. Owsley, Hominy, and Tom Owsley of Kingman, Arizona, and 1 sister, Mrs. Eunice Gregg of Hominy.
