Mrs. Frankie Aaron Lanier, age 95, of Lyons entered into eternal rest in her new heavenly home on Thursday evening, October 10, 2019 at Treutlen County Health and Rehab after an extended illness.

Born to Saint James Aaron and Emma McCullough on December 7, 1923, Frankie was a native and lifelong resident of Lyons. Growing up as a teenager during the height of the great depression instilled a strong sense of family values within her heart. She was a homemaker who loved her children and spoiled her grandchildren. Frankie was an award-winning quilt maker; was an avid gardener, and she loved to dance, fish and travel. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family. She was a member of Vidalia Women’s Club and a long-time member at First Baptist Church of Vidalia where she was a member of the Steadfast Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Lanier is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hezekiah “Dick” Lanier; her brothers, J.D. Aaron and Alvin Aaron; her sister, Lillian Aaron Wiggins; her daughter, Holly Corbin Hakala; and daughter-in-law Minnie Corbin.

Frankie is survived by two sons, Lucian Corbin of Lyons, and Donald Corbin (Peggy) of Lyons; one daughter, Linda Corbin Wilson (Ronnie) of Lyons; her sister, Sue Aaron Walters of Columbus, GA; and nine grandchildren, Joe Corbin (Andrea) of Lyons, Charlene Corbin Thompson (James) of Lyons, Steve Wilson (Brenda) of Baxley, Rhonda Wilson of Lyons, Micheal Wilson (Dana) of Augusta, Bobby Dees of Port Royal, SC, B.J. Howell of Savannah, Adam Howell (JoAnn) of Fredrickburg, MD, and Tiffany Corbin Thornton (Collis) of Reidsville. Sixteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Memorial Services for Mrs. Frankie Aaron Lanier will be held Tuesday, October 15th at Toombs County Funeral Home of Lyons at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Don Moye officiating. A private interment in Lyons City Cemetery will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Community Hospice of Vidalia at 904 Mt. Vernon Road, Vidalia, GA 30474.
