Georgiana Emily "Georgy" Keats Gwathmey was one of the children born to George Keats and his wife Georgiana Augusta Wylie. Georgy was one of the nieces of English Romantic Poet John Keats

Georgy was united in marriage in 1847 in Louisville, Kentucky to Alfred Gwathmey, the eldest son of George Clark Gwathmey and his wife Sophia Weston Garrard. Georgy and Alfred were blessed with the birth of at least a son during their short marriage:

Georgy's husband, according to the writings of John Keats, became frightened with the cholera and drank everyday, beating Georgy who was pregnant with their son. Georgy's husband fled to New Orleans after their son was born and he passed away in 1850 of cholera.

Georgy passed away at the age of 60.
