RED PARRISH IS KILLED
Shot in Head by John Roberts With 22 Rifle, Who Was Once Inmate of an Asylum.

Orlane (Red) Parrish of near Greensburg was shot down and killed in his home Tuesday following a quarrel with John Roberts, an uncle of his wife. Following the quarrel, during which Parrish is said to have been struck in the mouth by Roberts, the latter went out and returned with a 22 calibre rifle. Reports are that Parrish was wiping the blood from his mouth before a mirror when he observed Roberts' entrance by the mirror's reflection. Upon turning around, he received the shot from the rifle in his mouth, which ranged upward into the brain, killing him instantly. However, details have been difficult to get.
The Parrish family lives near where the Bible Grove road turns off from State Highway 15. The killer, unmarried, is said to have been a former inmate of the asylum at Fulton from which he at one time escaped and hid out for several years. He remained at this place until the Scotland County sheriff arrived to take him into custody.
Parrish is a son of Al Parrish, and was raised in the Colony neighborhood, but his father now lives near Baring. He was one of a large family, most of whom now live in Knox County.
Funeral services will be held at Greensburg at 2 o'clock today.
