Nadine M (Rocha) Cortez, 62, of St. Joseph, died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at a St. Joseph hospital.

Mrs. Cortez was a graduate of the former Convent of the Sacred Heart in St. Joseph. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

On Oct. 20, 1956, she married John F Cortez in St. Joseph. He survives of the home.

Mrs. Cortez was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Mercedes Rocha; and two brothers, Adolfo and Robert Rocha.

Additional survivors: four sons, Felix A., Victor M., Jerry and John M., all of St. Joseph; four daughters, Regina A Richey, Lupe M Scarnati, and Linda A and Michelle Cortez, all of St. Joseph; two brothers John and Arthur Rocha, both of St. Joseph; and 16 grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial: 9 a.m. Monday, St.Patrick's Catholic Church, St. Joseph. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation: after 9 a.m. today at Heaton-Bowman-Smith& Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight. Parish Rosary: 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel, where family visitation will follow until 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Robert Rocha Memorial Scholarship.
