Edna Windham Buie, 84, of Lamar, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 16, 2010.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 3PM in Zion United Methodist Church conducted by the Reverend Ed Herlong. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, directed by Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home, Lamar Chapel.

Edna was born in Darlington County, SC; she was the daughter of the late Josie and Ruby Freeman Windham. She retired from Union Carbide in Florence and later on became a health care assistant. Edna was a lifelong member of Zion United Methodist Church, where she was involved in many church activities. Edna had a heart of gold and loved spending time with her family and friends and will be missed by all. She was also a faithful and dedicated fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Surviving are her son, Mickey English and wife Caddie of Lamar; her daughter, Shelby Walker of Timmonsville; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; her brothers, Josie Windham, Harry Windham and James "Buddy Roe" Windham all of Lamar; her sisters, Mary Ruth Parnell and Era Andrews all of Lamar; very special relative and friend Becky Weaver of Timmonsville; and special friend, Tommie Amerson of Lamar.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Buie and her sister, Willow Dean Windham of Lamar.
