David Milton Curtis, 72, of Greenleaf, ID, passed away of pancreatic cancer at home on Thursday, September 15, 2011.

A viewing will be at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, on Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and a graveside service will be held the following day at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 3:00 PM.

David was born to William and Eula Curtis on July 1, 1939 in Kansas City, KS. He was the youngest of their children. He joined the Marines at age 18 and served during the Korean War and was proud of his military service.

He then married Monetta Tipton in Kansas City, MO and they had 2 children. They moved to Middleton, ID in 1976, where he worked at Simplot for 24 years, where he retired at the age of 62.

During his retirement he enjoyed golfing, doing handyman projects around the house, walking the Green Belt with Laveta Bujold and their dog, Mocha, and dancing when he got the opportunity. He will be remembered for his work ethic by many, but mostly for his humor and his ability to makes friends wherever he went.

He is survived by his wife, Monetta Curtis; his daughter, Vicki Curtis; his son, Darren (Laura) Curtis; his granddaughter, Cara (Josh) Stanfield; his sister, Catherine Parrish; and his friend, Laveta Bujold.
