She was the daughter of Herbert and Maggie Huffman Poole. Her parents are buried in Broyles Chapel Cemetery. She was a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church. She was residing in Palestine at the time of her death there. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luke Toole, in December 1982; brothers, Willard Poole and Claude Poole; and sisters, Mary Ellen Poole Callaway, Annie Poole Recknor, and Audrey Poole Harris. She was survived by three sons, Jerry Nolan Toole, Harry Lynn Toole, and Dennis Michael Toole; one daughter, Deborah Jean Toole Howard; brother-in-law, Jot Edward Harris; sister, June Laverne Poole Woolverton, all of Palestine; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Her obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Sunday, 21 August 2011.
