Marta Josefina "Josephine" Edin was born February 18, 1867 in Sweden to Nils Johan and Kristina Agneta (Jonsdotter) Edin.

Marta was married to Jonas Olof Aberg on January 6, 1891 in Overammer, Ragunda, Jamtland Sweden before they came to America. They had 2 children while they were in Sweden: Sven Nickolaus Aberg (April 4, 1891) and Jonas Anton Aberg (September 7, 1893). Marta and her children left Sweden for America through Helsingborg in 1894 on the ship Slovenia, which arrived in New York on June 2, 1894. She and the two boys passed through Ellis Island.

Marta and Jonas Aberg (pronounced Oberg) lived in the Rock Creek, West Rock, Rush City, Cambridge area. Marta and Jonas Aberg lived in Royalton Twp., Pine Co., on the farm where they made their home until moving to Braham in the summer of 1943.

Marta was a member of Grasston Lutheran and then Braham Evangelical Lutheran.

Marta died on March 29, 1946 in Braham, Isanti Co., MN. She is buried in the Royalton Memorial Cemetery.
