Howard Morris, his 10 year old son, is listed with Edmund's sister Ann and husband Edgar Clark and family just a few doors down. Edmund and Eliza also have a daughter Lillie.
He partnered with his brother-in-law Edgar Clark and E.S. Hughes owning a general store in Dadeville until 1881. A family friend writes that "he took down with rheumatism and drew a larger pension until his death." Isabelle Snoddy who was his housekeeper and nurse became his second wife.
