A Good Mother Gone -
Just after going to press Friday morning we learned that Mrs. Caroline Goebel, widow of the late August Goebel, had passed to the Great Beyond the evening prior. It will be remembered that Mr.. Goebel passed away a little more than a year ago.
While the Goebel farm is just across the Dodge County line in Pebble township, the family attends St. Anthony's Church and considers St. Charles the home community.
Mrs. Goebel was a little over 60 years old and a native of Germany. She leaves a large family, and a rich estate. The deceased was a woman of many excellent qualities. To her neighbors, she is all that is generous and kind, to her family and home - the beacon light - the soul that directed all to the higher, holier life.
She was a good mother, a true wife and a loyal friend. What more can be said in the way of a eulogy?
Burial was made in the St. Charles Catholic cemetery beside the grave of her husband. Requiem high mass was sung, Rev. Klemenz being celebrant. The funeral was a large one - proof of the esteem in which she was held. The Democrat offers condolences.
