Jasper's occupation was a potter in the Jugtown Community

Military Service: Company B, 9th Regiment of the Georgia Artillery, CSA. He was present at Appomattox, VA when General Lee surrendered to General Grant ending the Civil War. Afterwards, he walked home from the war.

Jasper lived in Pike County Georgia on the first road to the left off Shepard Rd. It was the first log house on the left and was built by Jasper and Thomas his father.

Jasper is buried in Lamar Co., Ga. at the Mt. Zion Church near the Peidmont area. Jasper is in an unmarked grave near the old roadbed, which ran north and south through the cemetery. The grave was once marked with a CSA marker; it is now missing.
