SALT LAKE--Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and friend passed away on October 21, 1999. She fought a courageous battle, but finally succumbed to a stroke after suffering a brain aneurysm. It was a gorgeous Fall day and her children were lucky enough to be with her when she passed on. Ruth was born on May 13, 1926, on a farm located near Chetopa, Kansas. She attended school in Arcadia, Kansas. She married Marlin Eggen on November 22, 1946. She and Marlin raised their children in Wichita and Belle Plaine, Kansas. In 1967 they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. She thoroughly enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, gardening, driving to Malad, Idaho for lottery tickets, and going for brunch in Millcreek Canyon with her family and friends. Her grandchildren enjoyed spending time with her. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 25, 1999 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
