Well Known Stafford County Resident Dies Thursday. Funeral Saturday.
Richard S. Stevens, well known resident of Stafford County, died at his residence near Stafford Courthouse Thursday at noon in the 59th year of his life.
Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucy Bloxton Stevens, three daughters, Mrs. Belle Thompson, of Winston-Salem, N. C., Mrs. C. E. Woodward, of Stafford, and Miss Lucy Stevens, of Stafford; four sons, Richard L., Auburn, George and Linwood Stevens, all of Stafford.
Mr. Stevens had long been a resident of Stafford County and had many friends in the county and in this city. He has been engaged in farming and the carpenter business all his life.
The funeral will take place Saturday at 2 o'clock from Register (sic) Chapel, of which he was a member with services by Rev. W. H. Marsh. Interment will be in the church burying grounds.
