'OBITUARY
(Communicated)
Died on Sunday evening the 28th of November, after a painful and protracted illness, Mr. C. B. Webb of this District, in the 36th year of his age. The subject of this notice has left a disconsolate widow and six small children, besides many relatives and friends to mourn his early loss. He was an affectionate husband, a kind and indulgent father, and an esteemed and worthy citizen. Some twelve years previous to his death he attached himself to the Baptist Church, in which he lived an exemplary and pious life, and eviced a spirit of christian fortitude and quiet resignation in his last illness to the decree of Him 'whom to serve, is life eternal,' and expired in full confidence of enjoying a never ending and blissful immortality in the high court of heaven."
This obituary was obtained from microfilm records and was transcribed and provided by Charles Wade Williams of Pendleton, SC who is directly descended from Charles Baldwin Webb.
