Mrs. Cagwin Rites Friday

Services have been set for Doris J. (Mrs. James) Cagwin, 70 of Minerva, who died Monday at University Hospital in Iowa City. Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the chapel of the Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home. The Rev. Harry lake, pastor of the Clemons United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Born June 11, 1913, in Laurel, she was the daughter of James & Clara Ralls Adkins. She was educated in rural Marshall County schools and graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1930. On March 9, 1935, in Monmouth, Illinois, she was married to James Cagwin. They had made their home in Marshall County. Mrs. Cagwin was employed by the Clemons School as a cook for 25 years. She was a member of the Clemons United Church of Christ.

Mrs. Cagwin is survived by her widower, 3 sons, Dean of Sunnymead, California, David of West Union, and Joel of Wexford, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Mary Twaddle, Grand Prairie, Texas, and 18 grandchildren. Also surviving are 4 sisters, Adaline Holthusen, Texas City, Texas; Mary Elsberry, Gwen Wall, and Joan Wall, all of Marshalltown, and 5 brothers, Max & Ray Adkins, both of Marshalltown; Bill Adkins of Gilman; Deb Adkins, Eldon, Missouri and Tom Adkins of Ankeny.

Friends may call at Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home after noon Thursday.
