He was French Consul in Philadelphia ca 1837-39. Found on a ship passenger list with his two children; W Hersant, son b. ca 1825 and A Hersant daughter b. ca 1828, arriving in New York from Vera Cruz in 1833. Also found article about son Alexander Hersant who apparently had some terrible spinal problem.
