Memorial services for Abraham Keali'iahonui Heen, 90, of Copperas Cove, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Copperas Cove. Inurnment at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl, Honolulu, Hawaii will follow at a later date. Mr. Heen died at Scott and White Hospital September 8, 2011.
Abraham was born May 9, 1921 in Honolulu to Ernest Nalani Heen Sr. and Jeanette Kahuoi Hanapi Heen. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and Central Texas College. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, Hawaii National Guard and the U.S. Army in the Korean conflict and Vietnam retiring to Copperas Cove after 33 years of service. Along with other community services, he was a member of the Copperas Cove Exchange Club, the Noon Exchange Club and the Gatesville Exchange Club and served in many leadership roles and attained the office of District President of Texas and Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings and his beloved wife Peggy W. Heen.
Mr. Heen is survived by his sister, Marion Shim, brothers the Honorable Walter M. Heen, Ernest N. Heen Jr. his daughters, Wendy A. K.. Bazemore and husband Joseph M. Bazemore and Juanette (Nalani) Morrison and husband George C. Morrison, Jr., grandchildren Paige P. Gabel husband Jeffrey Gabel, Meredith M. Santos, Esq., and husband Dr. Felipe Santos, Kai A. K. Robertson and great-grand children Malia Gabel, Makena Gabel, Antonio Santos and Francisco Santos.

His biological father was Abraham Wong Akana. He was 3 years old when his mother remarried and his stepfather raised him.
