Robert Dayton Davison, 73, a lifelong resident of Appanoose County, who resided on a farm north of Plano, died in St Joseph Hospital in Centerville, Sunday, October 24, 1976. He had suffered a lengthy illness.
Born May 3, 1903 in Appanoose County, he was the son of Edmond Perry and Dorra Lenz Andrew Davison.
On April 2, 1924, he was married to E;,a F Atwell and she survives.
Mr. Davison was a farmer and a former employee of the State of Iowa having retired as a guard at the state penitentiary in Ft. Madison. He was a member of the Chariton River Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter, Donna Arlene Davison and two brothers, Don and Lawrence Davison.
Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Norma) Brinkle, of rural Plano; one granddaughter; and two sisters, Pauline Adams and Edith Hixenbaugh, both of Plano.
Services will be held Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. at the Miller-Hehrie Funeral Home in Centerville with the Rev. Ddouglas Opike officiating. Burial will be in the Brushy Cemeter. A memorials to the Chariton River Baptist Church has been established. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
