Death of Well Known Resident

Frederick Ochsenbein, 77, well known Montpelier contractor and carpenter, died suddenly Friday morning at his home. He was born July 9, 1868 in Goldwheil, Switzerland, and came to Montpelier in 1900, where he had since resided. He was a member of the L. D. S. church.

Surviving are his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Henry Rowell, Bakersfield, California; Mrs. Allen Linvall, Bell, California; Mrs. Sylvester Bills, Montpelier; three sons, Herman Ochsenbein, Bakersfield, California; and John and Carl Ochsenbein, both of Montpelier; two sisters, Mrs. Sam Berger, Montpelier and Mrs. Anna Bruderer, Logan; a niece, Mrs. William Youngless, Amherst, Ohio, and six grandchildren.

The following funeral services were held Monday in the Second ward chapel, with Bishop Alvin Tueller presiding: Song, “Oh My Father,” ladies quartet comprised of Mrs. B. E. Mumford, Mrs. Clyde Phelps, Mrs. Louis Montague and Mrs. Winston Bridges; invocation, President Sidney E. Burgoyne; song, “Sweet Hour of Prayer,” quartet; speaker, Bishop Tueller; vocal duet, “In The Garden,” Mr. and Mrs. James Olsen; speakers, Bishop B. E. Mumford and Bishop Robert Schmid; vocal solo, “Going Home,” Mrs. Mumford; speaker, President Silas L. Wright; song, “Behold ‘Tis Eventide,” Bennington trio, Mrs. Conover Wright, Mrs. Wilson Weaver, Samuel C. Hall; benediction, Ernest Vaterlaus.

Interment was in the Montpelier cemetery where the grave was dedicated by S. N. Kunz. The F. M. Williams Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
