Richard T. Varney, age 88, passed away on January 6, 2006 surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born July 27, 1917 in Lehi, Utah to Mildred and Otto Varney.

He married Elaine Weeks on January 13, 1950; later divorced, but remained loving and devoted friends. He loved spending time with his family. He was a loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by five sons and two daughters, David (Daisy) Vaught, Millie (John) McAfee, Dell (Linda) Varney, Violet Landry, Danny Varney, Douglas Varney, Darrell (Patricia) Varney; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Alice; and brothers, Wendell, Carl. Richard is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George, Darrell; and sisters, Evva, Joyce.

The family wishes to thank all of the dedicated and loving staff, nurses, and doctors at the V.A. Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2005 in the Lehi City Cemetery, 400 East 1100 North, Lehi. Friends may call Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street (100 East), Murray, on Tuesday from 12:00-1:00 p.m.
