OBITUARY

Friday, June 14, 1963

Virgil G. BAKER, 71, Fulton, operator of the Baker Vault Plant in Fulton since 1930, died at 6:10 a.m. today in his home. He had been in failing health for eight years.

Born Sept. 7, 1892 at Wagoner Station, he was the son of Levi and Mattie WYRICK BAKER. He had lived in Fulton since 1914. He was married May 13, 1914 in Macy to Rachel POWELL.

Surviving with the wife are a son, Richard BAKER, Fulton; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy MAHER, Mesa, Ariz.; the mother, of Indianapolis; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Ethel CAIN, Indianapolis. A son and a brother preceded in death.

Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Ditmire-Davidson funeral home at Fulton with the Rev. Paul GARNER officiating. Burial will be in the Plainview cemetery at Macy. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday.

Born in Fulton county, he was the son of Levi and Mattie Wyrick Baker. His marriage in 1914 was to Rachael Powell.

Survivors include his widow; one son, Richard, Fulton; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Maher, Mesa, Ariz.; his mother, of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Cain, Indianapolis; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A son and a brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ditmire Davidson funeral home in Fulton with Rev. Paul Garner officiating. Burial will be in Plainview cemetery at Macy. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday.
