Michael Faunce is my 2nd cousin 5x removed. Michael Faunce was born on December 23, 1809 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Conrad and Marie Elisabetha Baldt Faunce. He was baptized in the First German Reformed Church in Philadelphia. He was raised in Philadelphia. Michael married Mary Catherine Metzgar on July 20, 1833, in the Presbyterian Church of Kensington in Philadelphia.

They lived in Philadelphia were Michael earned his living as a fisherman. Michael and Mary raised 9 children; Abraham, Mary E, Conrad, Harriet, Catherine Ann, Jacob, Sarah Emma, Adaline, and Christian Henry. In 1880, they were living at 1249 Ash Street, Philadelphia with 4 of their children.

Michael was living at 1249 Ash Street in Philadelphia when he died from pneumonia on April 5, 1893. He was interred at the North Cedar Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia on April 10, 1893. His death certificate says that his occupation was a "gentleman" which does not agree with the United States Censuses
