Johana Meharg Dies Thursday, Dunbar Resident for 33 Years
Mrs. Johana Meharg, 89, widow of Edward Meharg, and former resident of Town of Dunbar, died Thursday morning at a convalescent home at Oregon, Wis.
The former Johana Kelly was married at Champion, Mich. in 1895 and lived in Pembine until 1913. She then moved to Dunbar where she lived until 1946 when her husband died. Mrs. Meharg lived recently with a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Paff, at Madison. She was born August 1, 1869 at Atlantic Mine, Mich.
Surviving with her daughter at Madison is a son, William E. Meharg of Antigo, a sister, Miss Elizabeth Kelly of Montana, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday in Wausaukee at 8:45 a.m. at Laun's funeral home and at 9 a.m. at St. Augustine's Catholic church, with the Rev. Casimer Tomcryk officiating. The rosary will be said at 8 tonight. Friends may call at Laun's funeral home from 3 p.m. today until time of services. Burial will be in Dunbar cemetery.
