Waterloo--Donald F. Heusler, 99, of W. Main St., passed away on Thursday (August 1, 2013) in the Living Center South in Geneva. There will be no prior calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday (August 7, 2013) in St. Mary's Church. The Rev. James Fennessy, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Bellona Cemetery, Bellona. Memorial contributions, in his memory, may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Don was born in Geneva, and was a lifelong resident of the Finger Lakes area. He was the son of the late Frederick and Hazel Francis Heusler. He married Isabelle G. Buck on June 18, 1933 and Marge Snook on August 18, 2000. His interests include fishing, hunting, an avid gardener, archery, a carver of duck decoys, cooking and baking and loved to do crossword puzzles. He was a member of the Masons, Elks, Buckskin Bowman and the oldest member of the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club.

He is survived by his children, Anne Brand of Seneca Falls, Joan McLaughlin of Geneva, David Heusler of Penn Yan, and Lilian (Jim) Matteson of Penfield; step-children, Lon (Carol) Snook of Waterloo, Susan (Larry) Nolan of Phelps, and Kathy (Tom) Richardson of Phelps; grandchildren, J. Kim (Brenda) Brand, Greg Brand, Dan (Pam) Brand, Susan (Robert) Sullivan, Holly (Pat) Clancy, Donald McLaughlin, Patrick McLaughlin, Glenda (Bubby) Smith, Gary (Susan) Heusler, Jeffrey (Morgan) Matteson, Katharine (Mark) Maves; his sister, Rose Heusler Barrett of Danbury, Conn; brother-in-law Frederick Brockway of Geneva; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Openhowski, Marilyn Boidin and Ellie Heusler; fifteen great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wives, Isabelle and Marge; his son, Donald F. "Chubby" Heusler; brothers, Gerald and Frederick Heusler; sisters, Beatrice Smith, Jean Kelly, and Dorothy Chambers; sons-in-law Richard Brand and Thomas "Bud" McLaughlin; daughter-in-law Doris E.
