LIFELONG RESIDENT OF COUNTY DIES

Seth Noah Kunz, 88, a native of Bern and lifelong resident of Bear Lake County, died August 13 in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital. He was born June 21, 1885, and was educated at Fielding Academy in Paris.

He was engaged in the insurance business most of his life at Montpelier and in later years was employed by the State of Idaho. As a hobby he did blacksmithing and made precision cattle brands for many people in the Inter-mountain area. He loved the outdoors, especially the mountains.

An active member of the LDS Church, Mr. Kunz held the office of High Priest at time of death. He served a two-year mission in Germany and Switzerland. He was secretary for five years and president for a like period of the Fourth Quorum of Elders and was the first counselor in the Second Ward bishopric for five years.

He married Emma V. Eschler December 22, 1910, in the LDS Temple at Logan. She died May 5, 1951. He married Mabel Wells, November 11, 1953, in the LDS Temple at Idaho Falls.

Besides his widow he is survived by two sons and three daughters, Mrs. H. C. (Elna) Pulley of Walnut Creek, California, Mrs. A. P. (Ruth) Bunderson of Boise, S. Ross Kunz of Livermore, California, and Don E. Kunz and Mrs. Glenn (Lucille) Talbot, both of Montpelier, a step-daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Marian) Owens of Pocatello, 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, and four sisters and three brothers, Adaline Countryman, Charlotte Harris, Lydia Jenkins and Zina Fuit, all of Ogden, Seymour Kunz of Salt Lake City, Frank Kunz of Soda Springs, and Anthon (Tony) Kunz of Bern.

Services were at 1 p.m. today (Thursday) in the Montpelier LDS Second Ward Chapel and burial in Montpelier cemetery under direction of Matthews Mortuary.
