James David Davis was the son of Rees William Davis and Susannah Garlick Wakefield. Susannah was the second wife of Rees William Davis. Susannah was the first wife of John Fleming Wakefield. John Fleming Wakefield died before the family could move to Springville,Utah. Rees had come over from Wales with his first wife, Margaret Walters and their children. Margaret died after arriving in Springville. So, there was Rees without a wife and Susannah without a husband in Springville. Rees and Susannah married. Then Rees died in 1860.
