Wilma May Saunders, 82, of Gallipolis, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011, peacefully at home.

She was born, May 29, 1929 in Dorothy, West Virginia, daughter of the late Robert Ollive and Ackey Lois Dean Fraley. She was a member of the Bethesda Methodist Church. Wilma graduated from Clear Fork High School, Clear Fork, WV in 1947 and later graduated from Nursing School. She worked at the Gallipolis Developmental Center and at Bob Evans Farm for several years.

Surviving are her two sons, Scott (Alice) Atha and Tim (Evelyn) Atha both of Gallipolis; a daughter-in-law, Loretta Atha (Gregg) of Gallipolis. Eight Grandchildren, Dana (Jay) Shriver, Heather (David) Smith, Chris Atha, Lori (DeWayne) Call, Matthew (Jamie) Atha, Joel Atha, Jordan Atha, and Dustin Atha; Six Great Grandchildren; Jayden Shriver, Gaberial Atha, Meghan Call, Briar Call, Lane Atha, and Adalynn Atha. One brother, Roger (Kathleen) Fraley of Dorothy, WV , One Sister Lois (Clyde) Young of Hartselle, AL, and one sister-in-law, Margaret Fraley of Brecksville OH and several nieces and nephews.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Marvin R. Saunders in 2010, two sons, Joel David Atha and Paul Ishmael Atha; a great-grandson, Joel John Timothy Shriver; Three brother, Randolph Fraley, Daryl Fraley and Ishmael Fraley and one sister, Madge Fraley-Robinson.

Private services will be conducted by Pastor Dan Lamphier at the Willis Funeral Home with burial following at the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.
