Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2011 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Avon for Lawrence J. Raden, age 96, of Avon, who died on Saturday, September 3, 2011. Rev. Blane Wasnie OSB will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Avon and also one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Avon.

Lawrence was born on October 17, 1914 in Avon to Frank and Margaret (Achmann) Raden. Lawrence resided in the Avon area his entire life, where he farmed with his sister Dorothy and her family until he finally retired on Saturday September 3, 2011. Lawrence enjoyed spending leisurely time with family and friends. Lawrence was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church, and enjoyed working hard, woodworking, gardening, trips to the casino, and at the age of 95 went on an Alaskan cruise.

Lawrence is survived by his sister-in-laws, Mildred Raden of Avon, and Delores Raden of Richmond. Nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great- great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Irene Bloch, Hildegard Enneking, Margaret Field, and Dorothy Sauerer, brothers; Nick and Ed Raden.
