Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at St. Benedict¹s Catholic Church, Avon for Dorothy G. Sauerer, 82, who died Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home, Albany. Rev. Blane Wasnie, O.S.B. will officiate. Interment will be at St. Benedict¹s Parish Cemetery, Avon.
Arrangements are by the Williams Funeral Home, Avon.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2004 at the Williams Funeral Home, Avon and also after 12 Noon on Saturday at the funeral home. St. Benedict¹s Parish Prayers will be at 5:00 p.m. and St. Benedict¹s Christian Mothers at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born September 10, 1922 in Avon Township to Frank and Margaret (Achmann) Raden. She married Elmer J. Sauerer on October 4, 1945 at St. Benedict¹s Catholic Church, Avon. She was employed at Fingerhut in St. Cloud and then at St. John¹s University in food service and then house-keeping. Dorothy was a seam-stress, and also liked to embroider and crotchet.
Dorothy was a member of St. Benedict¹s Catholic Church and St. Benedict¹s Christian Mothers.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Renee (Peter) Maile, Avon; Mary (Charles) Stalberger, Holdingford; Donald (Cheryl L.) Sauerer, Avon; grandchildren: Cindy Lou, Douglas, Randy, Amy, Kristi, Tony and Lynn; eight great-grandchildren; brothers: Lawrence and Ed of Avon; sister; Margaret Feld, St. Joseph.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband on September 1, 2001; granddaughter, Becky; brother, Frank, Jr. (Nick); sisters: Irene Bloch and Hildegard Enneking.
