HANNIBAL - Walter William Blohm, 101, of Hannibal, died at 6:35 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2002, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Hannibal. Dr. George Sublette will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Blohm was born Aug. 1, 1900, in Ralls County to Adolph and Ellen Mable Dixon Blohm. He was married to Agnes Marie Brown on July 18, 1922, in Hannibal. She preceded him in death Dec. 17, 1981. Survivors include one son, Nelson Blohm and his wife, Jo Ann, of Atkinson, Neb.; two daughters, Juanita Glascock and her husband, Wilbur, of Frankford and Marilyn Gray and her husband, Jim, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one son-in-law, Jim Hermann of Lakeland, Fla.He was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Blohm; one daughter, Virginia Hermann; one sister, Katherine Dryden; and one brother, Henry Blohm. Mr. Blohm worked at the cement plant in Ilasco for 40 years. Following his retirement he enjoyed his garden and orchard before he moved to Hannibal. Mr. Blohm was a member of First Christian Church in Hannibal. He was elder emeritus of the church, had served on the church board and was a member of the C.E.O. Men's Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or First Christian Church. Pallbearers will be Dale Glascock, Kevin Glascock, Clint Glascock, Mark Blohm, Joe Cecil and Frank Schwendemann.
