Eugene F. Ansley died suddenly at the depot at Bay St. Louis Sunday of heart failure. He and a party of friends were awaiting the arrival of the excursion train, and when attempting to shake hands with a friend who joined teh party dropped suddenly to the platform. He was carried into the waiting room where he soon expired. He was 15 years of age, and was the youngest son of Mrs. M. M. Ansley of that city. (Daily Herald, The (Biloxi, MS) 1903-03-16, p.: 6)
Note: Although the replacement grave marker gives the year 1888 for his birth. It is more likely he was born in 1887. On the 1900 census his mother gave his birth as October 1887, a census on which she gave all the other children's dates correctly. If he was born in 1887 it would also make his age in the news article correct.
