M. L. Ansley, Ocean Springs.
Ocean Springs, May 15.--Mr. M. L. Ansley, formerly roadmaster of the Louisville and Nashville railroad, died at his home at 6:10 o'clock this evening. Mr. Ansley some months ago resigned his position on the Louisville and Nashville and with his family located at this place, where he assumed the position of president and general manager of the Ocean Springs Lumber Company, in which corporation he had large interests. A week ago he complained of feeling unwell and remained at his home. He was never considered a very sick man and the community was shocked yesterday morning when the report was circulated that Mr. Ansley was in a dying condition. The best medical skill that could be obtained was summoned, but their efforts were in vain and in the presence of his large and heart-broken family he breathed his last. Although Mr. Ansley had only been a citizen of Ocean Springs for the short period of six months, by his manly and sterling worth he had endeared himself to every citizen of the town. The deceased leaves a wife and seven children. His remains will be taken Monday on the 2 pm. train to Bay St. Louis, where the interment will take place. Mr. Ansley was forty-nine years old at the time of his death. (Herald Weekly (Biloxi, MS)5/21/1892, Page: 1, Col.: 8)
