Services for Ray V. McBride will be Saturday at Harper Talasek Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M., with Dr. Rodney Kruse officiating. Interment will be in Killeen City Cemetery.

Ray McBride was born on August 24, 1923 in Florence, Texas to the late George and Maude McBride. He grew up in Maxdale, Texas and attended Killeen High School. He served in World War II in North Africa and Italy, and was involved in the invasion of Anzio. His awards include the EAME Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Stars; Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

He married the former Miss Mildred Ruth Cosper of Prairie Dell, Texas in 1948. Mr. McBride worked for Brown and Root engineering as a Superintendent, building interstate highways in Fort Worth and later he became self employed owning and operating Mac's Mobile home park.

Ray loved to work in his garden with his grandson Brian, play with his grand kids, watching the Dallas Cowboys play and especially watching the Texas Rangers with Justin. He loved riding his Tractor and sitting on the porch swing.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Mildred McBride of Nolanville; Son; David and his wife Shirley McBride of Nolanville; 2 Grandchildren; Brian and Justin McBride;

He was preceded in death by one son Dale Ray McBride of Dallas; 3 brothers; Elzie McBride of Wichita Falls, TX, Weldon McBride of Killeen and Bernice McBride of Nolanville; 1 sister Lorene Allman of Killeen;
