Born near Mulberry, Mr. Martz had spent his entire life in this community. In September, 1888, he and Alice Rothenberger were united in marriage. For forty-five years he was employed by the local milling company, and for the last several years he had served Mulberry as a drayman. He was a member of Zion's Lutheran church and Imperial lodge No. 240, Knights of Pythias. Mr. Martz had a record for holding the station of Outer Guard in the local K. of P. lodge for over thirty years.
Survivors besides the wife are three daughters, Mrs. George Henrichs of Mulberry, Mrs. Herman Mattix of Frankfort route 7 and Mrs. Harry Browning of Lafayette. Four grandsons also survive.
Friends may call at the home just south of Mulberry after noon today (Friday). The funeral service will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the home with the Rev. A. E. Wulf and the Rev. Isaiah Whitman officiating. Burial will be at Fair Haven.
