Mrs. Carrie Hause died in Indianapolis, Monday, after having been in poor health a year or longer. Her last visit in Mulberry was made last fall.

The deceased was a daughter of Henry Martz and was born in Carroll county, near Prince William, on the 21st of August, 1847. Her first husband was John D. Baer, a carpenter, who built and lived in the house which is now the property of Joe Hackerd, just across the street from the Jay Grain Compnay. Mr. Baer died in that house some twenty-eight years ago. Later on the widow married a man named Hause, in Indianapolis. He died five or six years ago and since then Mrs. Hause and her son, Wm. Martz, lived together.

The remains were brought to Mulberry, by the son, Tuesday evening and were taken to the home of a brother, William Martz. The funeral service was conducted at 2 o'clock, Wednesday, at the Lutheran church, by the pastor. Mrs. Hause was a member of the Lutheran church. The burial was at Fair Haven.
